I'm a writer based in Austin, Texas. Since 2007 I have been the southwest
correspondent for The Economist. My work has also appeared in the New York Sun, The Spectator (UK), and More Intelligent Life. I have a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Columbia University, and a master's degree in public affairs from the LBJ School at The University of Texas at Austin.
