This is funny--the possible roots of Mitt Romney's "self-deportation" lie in a 1980s prank from a pair of Latino satirists. Come to think of it, why don't politicians ask comedians to draft their policy briefs more often? It's not like most of those things are serious:

In a recent interview with KPCC, a public radio station in South California, Mr. Alcaraz said the 2012 campaign “has been a blessing” to comedians, particularly Mr. Romney’s attempts to connect with Latino voters by raising the fact that his father was born in Mormon colony in Mexico.
